Job Description

  • Service of food and/or beverage to include the order-taking, delivery and clearing of any food and/or beverage items
  • Checks station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness
  • Greet, welcome, and invite guests in a friendly and courteous manner, and explain any specials and/or restaurant promotions for guest awareness
  • Takes guests order and inputs the order into the Point of Sale computer to inform the kitchen of the particulars of the order
  • Retrieves order from kitchen, confirms its accuracy and delivers it to guests
  • Ascertain guest satisfaction throughout the meal service
  • Abide by all state, federal regulations and restaurant liquor policies pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests
  • Greet guests immediately – issuing menus and roll-ups if they are eating
  • Table service and cocktailing - promptly take food /drink orders – WRITE THEM DOWN
  • Food running
  • Table Maintenance – keep tables free of debris and dirty plates/glasses/silverware by pre-bussing, pay attention drink refills and condiments
  • Salesmanship - The more suggestions you make, the more knowledgeable you will appear, the more money you will make and the more pleased your Guests will be.
  • Proper Cash Handling – maintain your personal bank
  • Make each guest feel important and appreciated – they should want to come back just to see YOU!

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Valid Food Worker Card required
  • Prefer a minimum of one year of previous serving experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English (verbal and written)
  • Must have a courteous, friendly and professional demeanor
  • Ability to stand, walk, and carry food trays for prolonged periods of time
